The ICC development committee therefore were forced to base their guidelines for qualification on winning results over the past five U19 qualifying events in each respective region.

ICC appoints first independent female director

Nooyi is the organization's first independent female director. Mrs. Nooyi will join the Board in June 2018 to align with the term of the ICC Independent Chairman, following the unanimous confirmation of her appointment at today's meeting.

The introduction of an Independent Director, who must be female, was approved by the ICC Full Council in June 2017 as part of wide ranging constitutional change aimed at improving the global governance of the sport.

No evidence of match-fixing in third Ashes Test between Australia and England, says ICC

The Sun newspaper published a story last year which claimed they had been offered information from two bookmakers relating to match-fixing during the game.

But following an investigation into the matter, the ICC are confident there is no basis to the allegations.

"We have carried out an extensive global investigation with anti-corruption colleagues from Member countries based on the allegations in The Sun and the material they shared with us," ICC general manager - anti-corruption Alex Marshall said in a statement.

PNG players dominate EAP select sides

The event will be held in Geraldon, Western Australia.

The men’s team has six players from PNG and eight from Vanuatu. The EAP women’s side is made up of eight PNG players, four from Vanuatu and one Samoan player.

The ACCC is an annual tournament which showcases the best cricket talent from regional areas around Australia, with teams from all around Australia and from the East Asia Pacific region.

Test cricket welcomes newest members Ireland and Afghanistan

The body said it had voted to admit the two nations into the elite group that is permitted to play traditional five-day Test matches.

As new full members of the ICC, Ireland and Afghanistan will take the total of countries playing Tests to 12.

Amini Park to host three ICC matches

The first will be a four-day match that will run from October 16-19. This is an ICC Intercontinental Cup fixture.

The next two fixtures are 50 over encounters with the first on October 21 and the other on October 23.

Both are ICC World Cricket League Championship matches.

Boas: More career awareness needed national athletes

After attending an Athlete Career Education course this week, Boas strongly recommends the course be pumped out to national athletes in other codes as well in the country.

The course was co-hosted by High Performance – PNG Sports Foundation, Cricket PNG and International Cricket Council,

“This is a very good course and would have been great if all other national athletes from other codes attended.

“Like most of us playing at the national level, we are bound to lose our form one day.

Barras squad capable of defeating Kenya
