Indian High Com Announces Financial Support

India’s High Commissioner to PNG, His Excellency Inbasekar Sundaramurthi made the announcement yesterday, 17 August to DFAT.

H.E Sundaramurthi emphasized that their administration focuses on capacity building especially within the department.

The Commissioner was Deputy Chief of Protocol 11 years before, thus understands the work of the department.

He encouraged DFAT’s Acting Chief Protocol, James Noglai, Acting Deputy Secretary of Policy Magdalene Moi-he to draft a proposal for the K400,000 funding support.

New Suits For DFAT

The presentation took place at the Central Government Office in Port Moresby yesterday, 17 August 2022.

India’s High Commissioner, His Excellency Inbasekar Sundaramurthi emphasized that this is just one of the Commission’s many gestures that will see both countries working together to better the department.

DFAT’s Acting Secretary for Policy, Magdalene Moi-he acknowledged the India-Papua New Guinea bilateral relationship that has spanned well over 40 years since established in May 1976.

Moi-he said India’s development progress is one to envy.

Wong Praises UN-India Help

The country has been facing an enormous rise in cases relating to COVID-19 and the delta strain, exposing the St Johns Ambulance to face struggles as calls for assistance grows.

Minister Wong expressed his gratitude towards the Indian and UN partnership for procuring the much-needed ambulances that have arrived at a time where the pandemic has ravaged the country’s health system.
