The 55-year-old was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Monday, TMZ reported.

In a post on Instagram, he said: "I'm doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team."

He is "resting comfortably" after the aneurysm, his lawyer told Billboard.

In his post, Dr Dre also wrote: "I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!"

Friends and fellow stars have sent their well wishes after the reports of his ill health emerged.

Veteran US broadcaster Larry King 'hospitalised with Covid'

Sources close to his family told ABC News and his former employer CNN that he has been at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre for over a week.

In a career spanning over 60 years, King has multiple accolades, including two Peabody Awards and an Emmy.

He has faced several health problems in recent years, including heart attacks.

Representatives for King, 87, have not publicly commented on his hospitalisation, and details of his current condition are unclear.

Hospitalised Lara 'fine'

West Indies had confirmed Lara, who is working in India as a television pundit for the Cricket World Cup, was taken to a hospital on Tuesday.

The Windies then tweeted an audio message from Lara in which he explained doctors had been encouraged by the results on some of the tests they had done, with the 50-year-old hoping to be allowed to leave soon.

"I know everyone is very concerned about what's happening," Lara said in the audio message.

"I think I just maybe extended myself a bit too much in the gym this morning.
