Hiri-Koiari onboard to sponsor festival

Member for Hiri-Koiari, Keith Iduhu shared that the sponsorship is a way to pay homage to history as the Festival is close to the electorate as well.

“The District Development Authority have resolved to support the Hiri Moale festival which I hope will revolve into an institution that reminds people of the significance impact and contribution that we continue to make in the development of our country.

Hiri-Koiari Prep For Quality Check

Ballot boxes for Central Provincial seat were transferred to Ben Moide Club at Murray Barracks today.

Hiri-Koiari Returning Officer, Leo Ameua, said that before resuming quality checks, sitting arrangements will be reorganized. The number of counting officials will also be reduced.

He said this is to make sure the Open and Regional seat counting areas are not overcrowded.

Hiri-Koiari Count 3 Update

The progressive tally as of midday today is:

  1. Andrew Moi – 751
  2. Keith Iduhu (New Generation Party) – 477
  3. Mathias Jack (Independent Candidate) – 362
  4. Gabriel Nicholas (PNG National Party) – 227
  5. Willie Kaeaka (Independent Candidate) – 54

Hiri-Koiari Polling Update

He shared that the last four ballot boxes were received yesterday afternoon.  

“This afternoon we will be put down the list for all the counting officials. Tomorrow morning will be training for counting officials and de-brief and will be ready.

“I will find out from the management if counting can take place on Saturday (tomorrow) and Sunday,” Ameua said.

Currently, officials are still waiting around for training.

Hiri-Koiari Nominations

Candidates have been lining up to nominate at Mirigeda, in Hiri East.

Hiri/Koiari electorate covers Kinakon to 17mile in Koiari LLG; 1 Mile and Goldie Area in Vanapa/Brown LLG, and Rabuka to Senunu in Hiri LLG. Its people are proud as a result. They would soon have someone from their electorate represent them in parliament.

Since Nominations started on Thursday the 19th of May, 20 candidates nominated so far, since nominations began on May 19.
