Hides board urged to serve people

Potape said as the representative of the Government on the ground, they must ensure they deliver to their people.

Speaking at the recent swearing-in ceremony, Potape called on Hides PDL 7 SPA chairman-elect, Andy Hamaga, to immediately meet with the board to begin planning for their area.

Potape also called on the Government to release the K35 million funding commitment directly to both the Hides SPA and Hides PDL 7 SPA so that they can roll out much-needed programs.

Komo, in Hela Province, is the only LLG in the country with two Special Purpose Authorities.

Furthermore, the Board has elected a chairman as well.

This has been signalled as a momentous occasion for the people of PDL 7 with the Board stating that this will bring the government more closely to the people.

The event was held in Port Moresby last night.

Landowners representing the 10 blocks of PDL 7 were finally sworn in yesterday in what has been described as ‘long time coming’.

Witnessed by the Department of Inter-Government Relations, judicial services and fellow clansmen, the Hides PDL 7 SPA Board then elected its first chairman, Andy Hamaga.
