President of the network, Rodney Mukinere, started the group in 2005, when he was diagnosed with AIDS.

“I saw that there was a need to talk about taking care of people with HIV/AIDS because I noted that when people bring them to the hospital and hear the diagnosis, they abandon them,” said Mukinere.

“We started taking care of them hence, the formation of the network.

“There were others who had recovered but came back to assist and we formed the Morobe Network of Positive Living.

Wong: Opposition’s Claims Baseless

Minister Wong said if the Opposition had taken any interest in the passage of the legislation, they would not be making such reckless and empty claims, particularly as the country braces for further COVID-19 disease spread.

“The National Pandemic Act was the most effective way to manage the COVID-19 crisis while balancing the need for business and the economy to stay open and recover.

PNG in very serious health crisis: Minister

Shadow Minister for Health and HIV/AIDS, Joseph Yopyyopy, has called for swift and appropriate Government action to prevent the further deterioration of PNG’s most basic and essential health services.

He warned of catastrophic consequences resulting from Government inaction whilst noting that the PNC-led Government drastically cut health spending for the past three years, including 2017.
