Delegates visit Goroka hospital

Birmingham, the team leader of the multi-party delegation of Australian MPs and the delegates from the Global Health Asia Pacific are here to assess the development of pressing issues in PNG communities.

The team met with the Goroka’s provincial health administration, workers in the region's HIV program and family and sexual violence Centre.

“My team are here on the fact finding mission to identify what type of development challenges face in PNG so that we can be able to work together to address”, he stated.

Adventist church donates bibles

With permission granted by the Provincial Health Authority CEO, Dr. Joseph Apa, the church erected an altar within the hospital premises so they can hold continuous prayer to bring hope to those infected by the virus.

President Pastor Joanis Fezamo who handed over the bibles on behalf of the SDA Eastern Highlands & Simbu missions, said they have been hearing about weird incidences happening within the hospital and among the COVID-19 patients. They discerned that these were not normal but were attacks from the devil.

Goroka hospital donation

Last month, Goroka Provincial Hospital was among the four major hospitals that received from the kind donation from Trukai. Rice Industries donated a tonne of Trukai rice consisting of 100 bags of 10kilogram rice.

Trukai Area Manager in Goroka, Vagi Asitore who made the presentation, said Trukai Rice is giving back to the Goroka Provincial hospital has part of its community obligation.

Patients at Goroka get visit from Miss PNG Grace Nugi

Nugi visited five wards at the hospital delivering gift packs containing basic necessities like toiletries and snacks with the help of volunteers.

The patients came from all over the province and some have been staying at the hospital for up to two months while receiving treatment.

They were pleased to see her as they don’t get a lot of visitors from family who are far away.

Nugi spent one on one time with each patient and guardian.

“I realised that we may not be the ones healing them or making their love better.
