So as not to prejudice Burgess’ criminal proceedings case, the NRL will wait the outcome of that case before taking any action for possible breaches of NRL rules.

The decision in no way forms a judgement on the allegations against Burgess which are serious and the NRL reserves the right to impose a No Fault Stand Down in the future.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Burgess left his vehicle after being filmed by another driver.

The England international allegedly got out of his car and took the other driver’s phone.

 

Dragons sign George Burgess as Mbye deal nears completion

The Dragons announced on Monday that Burgess has signed a two-year deal after his recovery from a hip operation has progressed well since his return to Wigan last year in the Super League was cut short by what was at one point feared to be a career-threatening injury.

Burgess takes early guilty plea

 Burgess will accrue 427 points meaning he will miss four matches and have 27 carry-over points.
