Greenhouse Gas Inventory report vital for PNG

PNG is among many countries under the UNFCCC that rectified the Paris Agreement and must report on their status on the NGHGI.

The Paris Agreement and the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) that underpin the Agreement provide a framework for the collective action necessary to address global climate change.

This includes specific action in the agriculture and land-use sector.

FAO committed to assist PNG with greenhouse gas inventory

The report must be completed and submitted to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

PNG inventory compilers to undergo hands on training

The workshop is fully supported by the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) scheduled from March 13-17.

The intensive hands-on training is based on the National Greenhouse Gas Inventory (NHGI) for the agriculture, forest and other land uses (AFOLU) sector.

The Government through CCDA is preparing data from the AFOLU for NGHGI.
