ESP woman sentenced four years for flex theft

Glenda Nugai was an employee of Oceania Communication when she conspired with Norman Ilikis to steal K232,000 worth of Digicel flex out of the company.

Deputy Chief Justice on Monday sentenced her to serve a term of four years at Bomana after he found her guilty of the offense on Nov 25, 2016.

The court said that sentence term can be suspended if she repays the amount stolen.

A total of 25 transactions were done by Nugai over a period of three months, from Nov, 21, 2014 to Jan 31, 2015.

On trial for electronic flex theft

Norman Ilikis of Turagunan village, Kokopo, East New Britain Province will appear for listing at the National Court on Feb 20.

Magistrate Mekeo Gauli last Monday (Jan 16) found sufficient evidence against the 34-year-old. His matter was committed today (Jan 23) after his Section 96 Statement went before the District Court.
