Investor committed to Sepik Plains projects

Chief executive officer of the Innovative Agro Industry, Lior Crystal, was part of a delegation that flew over to the Sepik Plains on Monday, Sept 18, 2017.

Other parties on the aerial inspection were the Australian High Commissioner to PNG, His Excellency Bruce Davis, and the CEO of the PNG Cocoa Board, Kautu Boutua.

The delegation was led by the Minister for National Planning and Monitoring, and Member for Yangoru-Saussia, Richard Maru.

Yangoru man ordained a priest

Deacon Paul Kaji from Pachen village in the East Yangoru LLG was ordained early this week to the status of a Priest by Catholic Bishop of the Wewak Diocese, Bishop Jozef Roszynski at the St Thomas Catholic Church at Yangoru.

The ordination which marks the first for the Catholic community in the Yangoru  Saussia District of East Sepik Province.

The Parish since its establishment 64 years ago never had a local parish priest apart from missionaries who went there to serve the parish.

ESP man killed in Lae

The group of youths allegedly under the influence of home brew had set upon the deceased who was allegedly involved in an earlier fight with one of the suspects who set upon him that morning.

 Metropolitan Superintendent Anthony Wagambie Jnr said the group had mobilised after drinking and attacked the deceased as he was beaten and stabbed a couple of times.

Wagambie said the deceased had managed to run away but collapsed along the new freeway foot path.

Maru’s drive for education in Yangoru taking shape

The district has four local level government wards, Numbo, Sausso, East Yangoru and West Yangoru.

Under the chairmanship of first term MP and Minister for Trade Commerce and Industry Yangoru Saussia District Development Authority had invested heavily in the primary school infrastructures in the 30 registered Schools.

Sausso LLG has recorded a total of 9 projects, Numbo 4, West Yangoru 5 projects and East Yangoru LLG 5 projects.

The projects involved double-story classrooms, library and teachers houses.
