Enga Police continue pre-election operations: PPC Nili

Mr Nili said police are continuously educating people on electoral related offences and consequences of the election. He said the 2022 national general election will be different so he plans to deploy more troops for the elections.

He said policemen are also giving out pamphlets containing election related laws to the schools and teachers to issue to the students.

900 security personnel both police and the defense force are on the ground to cover more than 400 polling stations in the province.

Baisu escapee arrested in Porgera

The escapee is currently being held in police custody at the Paiam Police Station in Porgera.

The male escapee identified as Fredis Lamaipa from Paiela village in Porgera, escaped from the Baisu Prison Camp on December 31, 2014 after he was charged with one account of willful murder.

On Monday January 11, members of the JFCO, acting upon trips from informants went to Apalaka at about 6pm outside Paiam station and arrested the escapee.
