Electoral Roll updates 2016

Gamato satisfied with electoral roll update

He said provinces that are well ahead include East New Britain, East Sepik, West New Britain, Milne Bay and Central.

“While these provinces are taking the lead in their enrolment activities, I strongly encourage others to follow suit by completely conducting their four levels of cascade training of returning officers, assistant returning officers, enrolment agents, ward enrolment committees and data processing officers,” Gamato said.

Electoral Roll update to begin this month

“It is expected that by November 2016 all data collected in the districts should be sent from the field to data entry centre in the respective Provincial Headquarters for data entry to be done,” Gamato said.

Six provinces have completed their second level of training of Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers and LLG Supervisors in preparation for voter enrolment.

These provinces include East Sepik, Northern, West New Britain, East New Britain, Milne Bay and Central.

2016 Electoral Roll update underway in Rigo district

Speaking from Irupara, Chief Electoral Commissioner Patilias Gamato says the exercise is the first since formally launching the nationwide Electoral Roll update last month at Kwikilla station, Rigo District.

The Roll update in Hula and Irupara signifies the start of the program nationwide.

He explained that the exercise in Hula was also conducted as an insight for their donors and stakeholders on the capabilities of what the current PNGEC administration can do.
