Charity donations to end 2023

For the 8th year, the donation is to give back to members of the community who were unable to be a part of the Christmas festivities.

Truaki donated 1.3 tonnes of Trukai Rice to 13 Correctional Service establishments nationwide with Trukai Industries staff visiting the Buimo and Bomana female detainees. The female detainees were given care items consisting of towels, blankets, sanitary pads and soaps while plush toys were presented to their babies.

Modilon Hospital receives Christmas donations

This will enable the hospital to provide special meals for patients during the festive period.

Golden Rise Investments came with two truckloads of gifts while RD Tuna Canners also joined with 171 cartons of eggs from their Vidar Chicken Farm.

Golden Rise Investments wished the hospital staff, management and all patients a happy Christmas wishing the patients well this festive season..

The presentation was done to the catering department of Modilon Hospital and received by the Administration Manager, John Jeremiah.

Lae MP applauds fishing club

This year, from March 31st to April 9th, the Lae Game Fishing Club hosted the 46th GFA PNG National Game Fishing Titles attracted anglers and boats from Port Moresby, Rabaul, Kimbe, Madang and as far as Australia to Lae.

The nine-day challenge provided an opportunity for visitors to not just troll their lines in the waters of Morobe but also experience their hospitality and cultures, and what Lae and its people have to offer in terms of business and tourism.

Supplies for mothers and babies

The donations were distributed to the Paediatric Ward, Special Nursery Care and the Maternity Admission ward.

The donations comprised of baby care packages like diapers for new borns, sanitary wipes, water bottles, S26 powder milk, laundry detergents, fruits, new baby clothes and blankets. 

Friends of PomGen have been overwhelmed by the response they have been receiving since putting an advert out on social media, requesting help with supplies for mothers who were unable to afford these necessities.

 

2K Medical Centre backs PMBL

Through the sponsorship, 2K Medical will pay for the venue hire of the Taurama Aquatic & Indoor Centre for the remainder of the PMBL season.

PMBL’s Lawrence Lahari, when signing the agreement today, thanked 2K Medical for the partnership.

“2K Medical had joined earlier on during the season as a franchise team but then pulled out, citing referee inconsistency.

“After much debate on the issue and the PMBL recognising the fact that referees needed to be trained, it was resolved that 2K Medical withdraw from being in the competition.
