Digicel MyCash services back online, zero fees for all withdrawals

All Digicel MyCash services were restored today following restoration of international calls connectivity last week.

Digicel Regional CEO, Ms Shally Jannif, said; “I am delighted to let the people of the Kingdom of Tonga know that Digicel’s MyCash service is live and running and our Tongatapu Store is open to offer withdrawal services. Our customers were able to receive international money transfers from their loved ones overseas from earlier this afternoon.”

Digicel, first to establish international calls communication with Tonga

Digicel’s technical team in Tonga and Fiji have been working hard from the day Tonga (Saturday) was totally cut from the outside world in trying to get calls connectivity back up via a satellite link.

Digicel Regional CEO, Shally Jannif, said; “We are extremely pleased to inform the people of the Kingdom of Tonga that Digicel international calls service is back up. We gave this work the highest priority and our technical team has had sleepless nights over the past few days in trying to restore vital communication with the world.”

Digicel Tonga introduces new CEO Anthony Seuseu

Seuseu was recently the Head of Sales and Marketing at Digital Island, a company 100 per cent Sparks owned, based in Auckland, New Zealand.  He is passionate about people and getting the best results for them. He believes that a leader leads from the front and the best way to show this is through your actions. 

Prior to joining Digital Island in 2014, Seuseu also worked for Orcon and Vodafone NZ.  He was also a former professional sportsman and played in France, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.   

Digicel launches Tonga’s biggest 4G+ Network

At the official launch, Digicel Tonga announced that it has invested in the upgrade of over 50% of its sites across the Kingdom of Tonga with 4G+ services and coverage includes the main islands of Tongatapu, Vava’u and Ha’apai.  This is the cornerstone of a US$1.7m investment which demonstrates Digicel’s commitment to improving its communications services to the people of Tonga.
