Father of three wins brand new Ford Ranger

An excited Pala turned up today with his children to the Digicel head office at Gordons to pick up his brand new vehicle and had plenty to say.

“Thank you Digicel. Thank you. This is the biggest prize I have ever won. I’m very happy,” said Pala.

Representatives from the National Gaming Control Board were also present to witness the event.

Digicel PNG’s Head of Products and VAS, David Mba said the Find Santa’s Friend game ran from December 1, 2016 and finished on December 30.

Children’s Christmas Feast a hit!

Organised by the O’Neill Foundation and the National Gaming and Control Board, with support from various businesses including Digicel, the event was held at Konedobu Oval and drew a large crowd of excited young children aged between 3 and 12. 

On the day, attendees were treated to a performance from PNG singing sensation Jokema with backup vocalist Emma Edwards. Jokema’s rendition of Jix Ambe proved particularly popular with all generations of the audiences, who were singing along in unison.

The company threw an early Christmas party at its headquarters, ending their Friday on a jolly note.

Staff entertained each other with items, and a treasure hunt looking for Digicel’s Secret Santa.

There were gifts for winners and food for the rest.

The three year deal was made official today with the signing between Digicel Retail Director, Lorna McPherson and PNG Rugby Football League (PNGRFL) Chairman, Sandis Tsaka at the CHM building in Port Moresby.

This is the second term of the platinum agreement and marks the first time the PNGRFL has had an exclusive telecommunications partner.

The annual Daffodil Cup is set for Friday, August 12 at the Royal Port Moresby Golf Club organized by the Papua New Guinea Cancer Foundation (PNGCF) and sponsored by Oil Search.

The challenge is now into its 14th consecutive year and is a major fundraiser within Daffodil Month, the PNGCF's August Campaign.

The event aims to raise funds for cancer prevention and education in PNG.

Firm aims to increase data penetration

Digicel PNG is on the path now to increase data penetration throughout the country through the use of its recently launched service, free Facebook.

Acknowledging Facebook as the largest social media platform globally with 1.6 billion customers, Digicel PNG partnered with Facebook to provide free browsing to its PNG customers.

Digicel managing director mobile, Shivan Bhargava, said Facebook may possibly be a starting point to get more Papua New Guineans onto social media.
