Wilfred Lunge’s version of Ed Sheeren’s Thinking out loud stole the judges’ hearts, which he claims to have sung for his Valentine, Shirley.

Lunge, who is a third year student at the University of Papua New Guinea, studying Public Policy Management, said he was excited to win the Huawei P9 and thanked Digicel for running this competition and giving back to its customers.

“My very first smartphone was an Alcatel Pixi followed by an Alcatel EVO that I currently use,” Lunge said.

Digicel starts new year with Happy Resolutions SMS game

To participate in the game, customers simply text the keyword NEW to short code 1644 to receive New Year’s Resolutions tokens.

Each resolution token will contain a different message worth varying points, from 10 to 100 respectively.

An excited Pala turned up today with his children to the Digicel head office at Gordons to pick up his brand new vehicle and had plenty to say.

Children’s Christmas Feast a hit!

Organised by the O’Neill Foundation and the National Gaming and Control Board, with support from various businesses including Digicel, the event was held at Konedobu Oval and drew a large crowd of excited young children aged between 3 and 12. 

On the day, attendees were treated to a performance from PNG singing sensation Jokema with backup vocalist Emma Edwards. Jokema’s rendition of Jix Ambe proved particularly popular with all generations of the audiences, who were singing along in unison.

Head of Digicel Business, Gary Cobain, said this during the Digicel Business Awards in Port Moresby on Saturday night November 26, where 22 staff from across the country were recognised for outstanding achievement and effort in 2016.

Cobain said these individuals have contributed to Digicel PNG having an outstanding year.
