​Partnership growing strong

The Park's general manager, Michelle McGeorge, recalls joining the park seven years ago.

The area had no proper communication platform - no telephone line and internet. There were only 5 computers and 2 email addresses.

Since commencing this partnership, Digicel has helped in projects such as lining fibre optic cabling, CUG (closed user group) for staff, telephone line and internet.

Today, Digicel once more announced its continued gold sponsorship support of the park.

POM: There's a food van in town

It's a red and black van stocked with food and beverages.

The concept is to bring its services close to its customers. So basically, it’s a downsized version of its factory, loaded in a van and brought to a location.

On its fourth day today, Loop PNG met up with the van at the Digicel Headquarters.

On location, it was stationed for two hours, from 11am – 1pm, serving a long line of customers.

According to the spokesperson, there are two vans that cover respective locations.

​Don’t throw away old devices: DBTI

At a recent donation of old office IT devices and gadgets at Digicel PNG, DBTI IT instructor Noel Kibai spoke about the school’s need for old appliances and devices to help their students in their practical classes.

Kibai welcomed the idea to receive old devices and appliances, adding that even rundown vehicles can be given to the school, provided that all the parts are intact and can be used by their mechanical classes to train on.

Lae Police launches emergency toll free number

Lae Metropolitan Superintendent, Anthony Wagambie Jnr when officially launching the toll free emergency number thanked Digicel for the partnership with the police to fight crime in Lae city.

“This marks a milestone achievement for Lae Police by going into partnership with Digicel in providing an effective avenue in enabling the general public to reach Police when there is an emergency.

This is now possible with the launch of Samsung’s new Artificial Intelligence agent Bixby that PNG users can experience on the new Samsung S8.

The Bixby is a new way to help users get more out of their phone and navigate through services and apps with simple voice, touch and text commands.

Users can utilise Bixby’s voice function on several Samsung native apps and features including camera, contacts, gallery, messages and settings.

Make use of Digicel Live Chat and My Digicel App

The My Digicel App enables smartphone users on the Digicel network to track their usage, recharge, keep updated with offers and promotions and access the customer care team from the palm of their hand using the Live Chat.

Narara: What template are you giving your children?

Narara was the guest speaker  at the  “Black bow tie only ” Gala during  the  Digicel PNG Foundation Men of Honour  event.

Narara was invited by the Digicel PNG Foundation CEO Beatrice Mahuru to speak to recipients of the 2017 Men of Honour event at the Stanley Hotel on Saturday April 29, 2017.

In this final episode of Granger Narara’s speech, he tells of  his brother Tim who joined him followed by his son. He also tells of his second son Duanne who has decided to follow and life his own lifestyle and who now lives in CHINA. Obviously a chip off his late grandfather.

Digicel connects rural Elaptamin

A new Digicel tower was officially opened yesterday by the member and representatives from Digicel PNG.

Shent Kiddie from the Digicel government relations team said the tower was recently built through a partnership between Digicel and the government.

The launch yesterday saw huge crowds of people from 16 villages within 5 council wards gather to celebrate this event.

There are about 10,000 people living in the Elaptamain area but there was no mobile coverage for many years.
