For a long time, Mama Bank had a desire to digitalize and expand its outreach to empower women through technology. In response to this goal, Digicel’s CellMoni has agreed to assist by collecting loan repayments and savings contributions from Mama Bank customers.

Chairman of Mama Bank Ricky Mitio expressed gratitude towards such a milestone. He thanked Digicel CellMoni for this achievement, adding that Mama Bank has always been a dedicated bank for women and their families in PNG.

The team managed to gain timely financial support from the corporate sponsor, Digicel PNG Limited, to help with their preparations.

Chairman of the Digicel Wantoks team Robert Hegoi said the K3,000 cheques given will assist them with their affiliation fee as they register for the 2017 season.

Hegoi thanked Digicel PNG Limited and the Digicel PNG CEO, Brett Goschen, for the timely presentation.

Goschen says Digicel is delighted to support the four participating teams, which involves two men’s and two women’s teams.

Digicel’s 1Tok Crazy October Offers commences on October 5 and include customer treats such as a Happy Hour offer, a Weekend Pass offer and a 24-hour SMS Pass offer.

All offers will be available through a new Digicel Treats Menu which can be accessed by dialing short code *675#.

Digicel Managing Director, Mobile, Shivan Bhargava said the offers provide greater flexibility for customers and are designed to meet their phone usage needs.

It was a day for food, fun and fellowship which included friendly games basketball, netball, volley ball, futsal, apple biting, and musical chair for both kids and adults, bouncy castles for minors, face painting and egg and spoon races as well.

Many prizes were given away with trophies to the winning teams.

The company this week launched a new set of data plans accessed via the *777# USSD menu.

The new plan sizes range from 60MBs to 13GBs, with users able to choose how much data they need and then how long they want the data for, either one, seven or 30-day passes. 

Digicel customers will also be given the option to choose whether they want their plans to renew automatically.
