Digicel round 15 with plenty of action

Starting at 12pm there will be a blockbuster with the Simbu Lions taking on the Agmark Gurias at the Kalabond Oval. This game will be a prelude to the SP PNG Hunters and Easts Tigers game later at 3pm.

All the action moves to the Highlands where the Hela Wigmen go up against the Lae Tigers in Mendi while the Wahgi Tumbe play host to the Port Moresby Vipers in Minj. Both games kick off at 2pm.

The National Sports Institute (NSI) is where the Goroka Lahanis clash with the Mendi Muruks at 3pm.

Tigers beat Lions in wet conditions

Tigers mauled Lions 20-10 and are leading the Digicel Cup race with 21 points to Lion's 20.

Tigers proved too strong for the Lions by holding a 16-0 lead at the break and continued dominating the match until the last 20 minutes when their defence appeared to relax.

Lions scooped two tries in the dying stages which at least  made their fans a little satisfied.

Tigers registered an unconverted try through winger Robert Vuia and extended the lead after 20 minutes through replacement forward Mogi Wei Jr scoring under the uprights.

Snax Tigers down Kemele Hela

Second rower David Loko and halfback Charlie Simon were standouts for the Tigers.

The match was a one-sided affair in the second stanza after a strong display of footy by both sides in the first half with scores tied at 6-4 in favour of the Tigers.

Loko (pictured), a former PNG Hunters man, unleashed a man-of-the-match performance, showing much experience and leadership with hit ups, speed and offloads.

Simon scored two tries and booted all conversions and penalties.

Digicel Cup heads into cross over round

Midday Sunday is where it all begins up at the Kalabond Oval where the Agmark Gurias host the Mendi Muruks.

The game will be a prelude to the SP PNG Hunters Central Queensland Capras clash later in the afternoon.

At Kundiawa, it will be a clash of the top two teams when the Simbu Lions go head to head with the Lae Snax Tigers.

The last cross over match will be a block buster with the Hela Wigmen taking on the Goroka Lahanis in Mendi. Both games kick off at 2pm.
