The squad has retained most of the players from last season with the inclusion of a number of new off-season recruits to beef up their playing roster this year.

Among the notable ones are former PNG Hunters enforcer, Radley Brawa, Hoods Kawage, David Joseph, Jerry Teme, Eliakim Lukara and Addickson Yamason from Gurias and Junior Belo from Dabaris.

Vipers to boost Roster

After all the disappointments of not making it all the way to the top this year, the Port Moresby Vipers have regrouped and commenced preseason training 4 weeks ago.

While retaining bulk of his 2021 playing group, Head Coach Joe Sipa is looking to boost his roster with a number of new signings to add versatility and experience to the team.

Sipa said one of their offseason signings to date is current PNG Pukpuk Sevens maestro William Tirang who’s currently playing with Funeral Home Laumas in the Southern Super League elite competition.

Project Development Manager for EMK Sepik Pride, Bradley Simon says after hosting several games in both East and West Sepik, several talents have been eyed to have captured the attention of the selectors.

He said having found their naming rights sponsor, the aim now is to select key potential key players from various competition

“Our Aim is to host local tournaments where we can identify potential players. We know we have a lot of great talent. Having a representation in the Digicel cup competition will help us expose our raw talents,” said Simon.
