Crystal Palace in dramatic win over Brighton

Palace took the lead as loan signing Jean-Philippe Mateta scored his first goal in English football with an improvised finish in the 28th minute.

Brighton improved after the break and pulled level in the 55th minute through Joel Veltman, who swept home his first goal for Graham Potter's side as the ball broke loose in the penalty area.

The chances kept coming for Brighton as they finished the match having had 25 shots at goal.

But Palace, from just three efforts, scored twice, with Benteke popping up with the winner to break Brighton hearts in the 95th minute.

Clinical Liverpool thrash Palace 7-0 to go six points clear

It marked the first time the Reds had won away in the top-flight by a margin of seven goals and was their biggest league victory since they hammered Palace 9-0 at Anfield in 1989 when they won the old top-flight First Division title.

The result put the defending champions on 31 points after 14 games ahead of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who host Leicester City on Monday.

Crystal Palace 2 Arsenal 3

For much of the game, Arsenal produced some of the fine football we have grown accustomed to since Wenger's arrival in 1996, and Sanchez produced two moments of real quality in less than four second-half minutes to clinch all three points as the Gunners boss moved level with Alex Ferguson in terms of Premier League fixtures managed.

Although Palace went into the match without a defeat in their previous eight top-flight outings, Arsenal were well in charge for the majority of the first half and were fully deserving of the opening goal through Shkodran Mustafi in the 25th minute.

Palace flatten tame Arsenal

Andros Townsend gave Crystal Palace a 1-0 lead with a close-range finish on 17 minutes, despite Arsenal's dominance in possession in the first period.

The Gunners were second best after the break, and it was 2-0 just after the hour mark through Yohan Cabaye's looping effort, before Luka Milivojevic put Palace three ahead from the penalty spot after Emiliano Martinez brought down Townsend.

Benteke cuts Chelsea lead

The hosts took the lead in fine style in the fifth minute. Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas combined to create an easy chance for Fabregas to convert, as they looked on course for a 14th home win in a row.

However, two goals in 91 seconds sensationally turned the match on its head as Wilfried Zaha brilliantly equalised in the ninth minute, before Christian Benteke cheekily chipped the ball over Thibaut Courtois to give Palace the lead.
