Climate Change Concerns-Mori

The Minister for Environment Conservation and Climate Change says the government is not standing by doing nothing.

Wera Mori is taking practical steps in addressing the issue head-on.

Minister Mori called a press conference recently to express concerns about the effects of climate change on the environment especially in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville.

He referred to the suspension of the recent Parliament sitting due to Covid-19.

He said COVID-19 is a consequence remotely related to Climate Change because of the increasing temperature.

Two new industrial parks for Morobe

The Orognaron ILG of Gabsonkec Village and Mopong Business Group of Yalu village, located along the outskirts of Lae City, have been identified for the projects.

Commerce Minister Wera Mori, accompanied by investor managing director of Eco Synergy Limited, Raymond Tee, ICDC officials and landowner spokesperson Kelly Naru, visited the two groups yesterday.

During the site inspection, Minister Mori said it was beneficial for the country to have more industrial parks in the country that can attract large scale projects investors to do business that will boost the economy.
