Lae community gets expert medical care

The team of seven specialist doctors ranging from a Neurosurgeon, Urologist (Urologists diagnose and treat diseases of the urinary tract in both men and women), Neonatologist (a doctor who specializes in caring for newborns with complex or high-risk health problems)

A Journey of Hope and Friendship

In a heartwarming celebration, family members, village leaders, media friends, and guests gathered to celebrate the 100th day since the birth of little Taylor Inapi, baby of a Josephine Inapi, who was discharged from PMGH Special Care Nursery on May 16, 2023.

Dr. Zhenqiu Liu, deputy captain of the 12th China Medical Team and an Associate Professor of Paediatrics at POMGEN, led the event, displaying the remarkable recovery journey of this young fighter.

China invites PNG medical professionals for training

This follows after the Chinese government signed a renewed protocol for the continuation of China's medical team to PNG, signalling a strong desire to continue medical and healthcare exchanges between the two countries.

The China Medical Team Leader, Chen Gang said since the inception of the team in PNG they have trained and conducted invasive healthcare services to the people of PNG and invite the PNG medical team to get medical training in overseas.

China Medical Team renew partnership

It signed a renewed Protocol for the extension of medical services to the people of Papua New Guinea.

The signing was initiated between the Chinese Ambassador to PNG Zeng Fanhua and Secretary for Health Dr. Osborne Liko. PMGH CEO Dr Paki Molumi witnessed the signing on Wednesday.

This year marks 20 years since the China Medical Team has been providing health care services to Papua New Guineans.

The medical team also rendered services in treatment and training of local medical staff.

Team, leader Dr. Liu Zhenqiu on behalf of the medical team and the China-PNG Friendship Association, Kavieng branch said the medical team had the privilege of providing medical consultations and promoting healthcare technologies during their visit to Kavieng. 

China Medical Team Saves Newborn

A newborn baby boy's life was saved thanks to the quick and skilled intervention of the China Medical Team at the Special Care Nursery(SCN) of Port Moresby General Hospital.

The baby was discharged from the hospital on May 16 and the hospital held a discharge celebration for the baby.

The mother of the baby, Josephine Inapi, expressed her gratitude to Dr. Zhenqiu Liu, China Medical Team Deputy Team Leader of the 12th China Medical team and the staff at SCN, thanking them for their lifesaving efforts.

China Medical Team visit Kavieng

The four are part of a larger China medical team of 10 based at the Port Moresby General Hospital since July this year.

The contingent to Kavieng consisted of Deputy Captain of the China Medical Team Dr Jason Liu who is also a pediatrician, Dr Hongbo Liu a traditional Chinese medical practitioner and physiotherapist, Dr Haibo MU a gynecologist/obstetrician who is also an expert in minimally invasive surgery, and assistant Nurse Chang Yang.

The third Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in PNG, Jiang Yewei accompanied the team.
