Christmas with Cheshire

According to the General Manager for Cheshire disAbility Services, Benson Hahambu, Cheshire started 2023 with Trukai’s support and will end it off celebrating this Christmas. 

“Trukai Industries opened this year with what I was always thinking of, which is the signboard in front. That was our first change for this year, throughout the year we were working ourselves building our systems,” said Hahambu.

Ambassadors for Trukai Industries were also present to share their Christmas celebrations some are for the very first time with Cheshire. 

Colgate Supports Community Initiatives

Committed to providing every child and family with a future to smile about, Colgate champion’s oral health awareness, advocates against gender-based violence, and promotes inclusivity.

Cheshire disAbility Services, dedicated to empowering Persons With Disabilities (PWD), receives targeted support from Colgate. The focus extends to the Hohola facility, is home to 15 residents with diverse disabilities, and their education program, fostering quality education for children with and without disabilities.

New Physiotherapy clinic opened

The clinic launch follows the successful signing of Memorandum of Agreement between CdS and Marie Stopes PNG (MSPNG).

CdS General Manager, Benson Hahambu, stated that partnership is to recognize the importance of people living with disability to have access to Sexual Reproductive Health and Family Planning.

Theodist supports Cheshire Disability Services

The event was well-received by customers, and it brought smiles to their faces. In addition to the games, the Port Moresby branch also hosted a sausage sizzle for Cheshire Disability Services, a non-profit organization that supports people with special needs.

Theodist is committed to making a positive impact on the communities in which it operates, and one way it achieves this is by collaborating with organizations and programs that share the same goal.

Swimmer raises funds for Cheshire Disability Services

The Steamships Group is supporting the swim, and 100% of all sponsorship money will go towards initiatives that will directly benefit people with disabilities and their families.

Swimmer Neil Papenfus, a General Manager in Steamships' Logistics Division, is registered to swim the English Channel in October. “I love swimming, I love challenging myself physically, and I love the work that the team at Cheshire Disability Services do for people in our community who are living with disabilities,” says Papenfus.

Cheshire Disability Services Gets Support

The Monier Limited General Manager, Matthew McLachlan presented a dummy cheque of K5000 to the Cheshire disAbility Services management.

One of the major fundraising for the Centre is the Patron’s fundraiser, which is usually a dinner or cocktail function hosted by the Governor General of PNG.

Operations Support Officer, Tom Sarwon said the K5000 cheque falls into the bronze category of donations.

Capital Insurance Renews Cheshire Partnership

The partnership is for a complete insurance coverage for Cheshire disAbility Services Program by the Capital Insurance Group, which include medical health, public liability and commercial property.

Hilton To Host Carols For Charity

The event will kick start a week of Christmas festivities at the hotel, and is organized by hotel team members as a way of extending the light and warmth of hospitality to their families, local communities, and the hotel’s charity of choice for this event, Cheshire disAbility Services.

Cheshire disAbility Services is one of the leading service providers in Papua New Guinea for people with disabilities, or those who may be at risk of developing a disability. 

Stagajah donate to Cheshire

The band had also held a gig to raise funds and donate it with three brand new acoustic guitars to the Cheshire disAbility Services.

At Cheshire, children with special needs respond well to the sound of music and these donations will provide the serenity and peace that comes with it.

Stagajah’s major sponsor PNG Dataco and its fans were instrumental in making the recent show a success in the purchase of tickets.

CHM Group supports Cheshire Disability Services

The items donated included:

• Five Panasonic Microwave Units

• Five Canon Pixma Printers

• Ten Powerpac BBQ Grills
