Dele double ends Chelsea's run

The midfielder nodded home two crosses from Christian Eriksen - both at the back post - to stop the Blues winning for a top-flight record 14th consecutive game.

The league leaders went close through Eden Hazard in the first half and Diego Costa in the second, but Spurs have cut Chelsea's lead at the top to five points and opened up the title race.

Chelsea fined but avoids points deduction for Man City brawl

Both clubs have been handed a fine by the Football Association, with City charged £35,000 and Chelsea receiving an £100,000 punishment.

It had been speculated that the Blues could suffer the unprecedented fate of being deducted points for failing to control their players in the match at the Etihad Stadium due to the number of similar previous offences they have been charged with.

Chelsea had been fined four times, prior to the latest incident, for violating FA rules on player conduct in the past 19 months.

Moses strike keeps Chelsea top

Mauricio Pochettino's side opened the scoring after only 11 minutes thanks to Christian Eriksen's brilliant long-ranger - the first goal Chelsea had conceded in over 10 hours - only for Pedro to level just before half-time with his own sensational strike.

The home team claimed all three points when Victor Moses - making his seventh consecutive league start - slotted home after 51 minutes as they made it seven league wins in a row, their best run for six years.

Chelsea thrash Everton 5-0 to move to top

Hazard put Chelsea ahead with a low, angled shot, before Marcos Alonso added a second when he slotted through Maarten Stekelenburg's legs.

Diego Costa made it 3-0 just before half-time, and Hazard scored the pick of the goals after the break.

Pedro put the gloss on the result when he tapped into an empty net.

Everton spent the majority of the game penned in their own half and did not manage a shot on target in the entire 90 minutes as Chelsea produced a ruthless and dominant performance.

Police investigate homophobic leaflet at West Ham

The London Stadium fixture was marred by clashes between supporters in the closing stages, with the police making seven arrests as a result.

However, a flyer aiming to incite homophobic chanting at Chelsea captain John Terry, which spread widely on social media, will also form part of an investigation into the scenes.

A Metropolitan Police statement read: "Police are aware of a leaflet handed out before the match containing homophobic contents. This will form part of the post-match investigation."

Willian & Costa help Chelsea overcome stubborn Hull

The hosts enjoyed the better of a cagey first half but went behind when Willian swept home a curling shot after good work from Diego Costa after the break.

Costa found the top corner with a similar strike to double the lead after Nemanja Matic's powerful run.

United, Chelsea failed Falcao – Vasilyev

Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev criticised Manchester United and Chelsea over their lack of patience and care with Radamel Falcao.

Falcao, 30, endured two miserable seasons in the Premier League, first with United and then with Chelsea as he netted just five goals in all competitions.

The Colombia striker returned to Monaco for this season and has already struck twice in three games.

Vasilyev was unimpressed by how United and Chelsea treated Falcao, who he believes will return to his best.

Hazard must learn to handle expectations at Chelsea, says Ballack

Chelsea star Eden Hazard needs to handle expectations if he is to produce his very best form for the club, former midfielder Michael Ballack has said.

The Belgium international inspired Chelsea to a Premier League and League Cup double in 2014-15, but endured a hugely disappointing campaign last year as the champions finished 10th in the top flight.
