State withdraws Kokoda murder case

This was after it was made known in court that they will no longer pursue it due to lack of evidence.

This case involves the cold blooded murder of a man and two women on Feb 22, 2011, at the Maguli ridge near Kokoda.

The accused, Joel Daku of Manari village, Mt Koiari in the Central Province, appeared before Justice Panuel Mogish today at the Kwikila National Court sitting where he was discharged of the allegations.

Central Court commences circuit

A parade by members of the Royal PNG Constabulary and the Correctional Service was held this morning to mark the commencement of the legal year opening for the province.

A dedication service was also held to commit the legal year to God.

Central Province administrative judge Panuel Mogish encouraged all in the province to work together to dispense justice in the rural areas and to make Central a model province in the delivery of justice.

He said working in partnership is the way forward.
