Censorship Act review

Censorship Act review a priority

While most of the work on the Review has been furnished, the Act needs final touches in terms of specifying the legal implementation role.

Deputy Chief Censor, Jim Abani, says the Act is out dated in the sense that it is not up to date with the current trend.

He said technology has made the Act look crippled.

The proposed Bill is intended to suit today’s business and conduct of technology.

The Review Process on the Classification of Publication (Censorship) Act 1989 began two years ago.
