Apart from operational police officers, there are those who are tasked to take care of detainees, including a cell guard.
Cell guards are part of the Public Safety Unit responsible for the welfare of detainees in holding cells. The cell guards make sure that the detainees are fed, healthy and appear in court. They are also responsible for ensuring the cell is not overcrowded.
