Massive financial boost for Cancer Foundation

With continued tremendous support from the Port Moresby business community, the Foundation raised a total of K144,380 through team registration fees, an auction and raffle sales to support their work.

Moo Engineering are the 2019 Oil Search Daffodil Corporate Golf Challenge winners, finishing on top of 29 other teams.

“The fight against cancer is everybody’s fight,” said Ruth Waram, PNG Communications Manager, during the presentation after the event.

India Association aids charity organisations

The charity organisations are PNG Children's Foundation (PNGCF), Office of Street Ministry, Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate and the Cancer Foundation PNG (CFPNG).

The PNGCF received K10, 000 which will go towards assisting needy children around PNG. The goal of the Foundation is to sustain healthy and happy PNG children.

PNGCF President Yiannis Nicolaou was thankful for the kind donation and confirmed that the funds will help with a new classroom they’re building at Six Mile settlement.

Nicolaou said anymore donations for that will be welcomed.

Mausgras cancer campaign launched

The Foundation under CEO Dadi Toka Jnr proudly announced the launch rebranding the campaign from Cold November campaign since the inaugural launch last year to “Mausgras Campaign” this year.

Toka said, they have decided to give the campaign a more localized name by adding a more Papua New Guinean feeling to it this year by naming the campaign Mausgras.

“So Maugras will be now be recognized as men’s cancer awareness month in the month of November in Papua New Guinea,” Toka said.  

Daffodil Cup raises K100 000 for cancer

The challenge, mainly sponsored by Oil Search Limited, was a success with 28 corporate companies taking part.

The funds will go towards awareness and educating the communities in the cities and rural areas of PNG.

CFPNG chief executive officer Dadi Toka Jnr encouraged the public to be part of the awareness by attending the educational programs carried out nationwide.

“We go out with the message cancer being a lifestyle disease and you can take some preventative measures by changing your lifestyle."

Games Mascot Presents Cheque to Cancer Foundation

The ‘Biggest Morning Tea’ is a campaign by the Cancer Foundation aimed at raising awareness of cancers affecting everyday Papua New Guineans.

All funds raised from this event goes towards early detection, prevention and awareness programs in the country.

This is the mascot’s second year of hosting a morning tea and it also coincided with the Games 50 Days countdown.
