UNDP was proud to hand over a new Resource Centre, with a computer room with 10 new terminals, Wi-Fi access for parliament, an office and conference room facilities.

In Buka for Bougainville Day, the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative, Roy Trivedy, joined the President of the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB) Chief Dr John Momis, Vice President Raymond Masono, Speaker of BHOR, Simon Pentanu and other community and government representatives to cut a ribbon and officially open the Centre.

Up-scaling ICT for Bougainville Parliament

The training was the first of a series of planned Information, Communications Technology (ICT) training to upscale the use of ICT among Parliamentarians in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville.

According to UNDP Peacebuilding Fund Programme Coordinator based in the autonomous region, Lawrence Bassie, the training was part of UNDP’s overall efforts to strengthen the work of the Autonomous Bougainville Government in general and more specifically to support the House of Representatives to be more effective and accountable to their electorates.
