Body Shaming

Chloë Grace Moretz 'appalled' by her film's body-shaming ad

"I have now fully reviewed the mkting for Red Shoes, I am just as appalled and angry as everyone else," Moretz wrote on Twitter. "This wasn't approved by me or my team."

Posters and a trailer for the film, a twist on the tale of "Snow White," drew the attention of Cannes Film Festival attendees last week.

In one billboard, two women -- one taller and slimmer than the other -- are seen side by side. The tagline reads: "What if Snow White was no longer beautiful and the 7 Dwarfs not so short?"

Viral support for meme victim hitting back at body-shamers

Lizzie Velasquez is a motivational speaker who has given TED talks and has thousands of followers.

She was born with a rare, inherited condition which means her body is unable to store fat.

"I'm writing this post not as someone who is a victim but as someone who is using their voice.

"No matter what we look like or what size we are, at the end of the day we are all human," she wrote on Instagram.

As well as Lizzie, other memes feature plus-size women, older people and those with a disfigurement.

Amber Rose says she was body shamed on 'DWTS'

The talk show host has accused "DWTS" judge Julianne Hough of body shaming her after Rose's salsa performance with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

The pair danced to Jennifer Lopez's song "Booty."

The next day on her podcast "Loveline with Amber Rose," she accused Hough of saying, "Oh, I'm uncomfortable," during commentary as Rose was dipped by Chmerkovskiy. She said she felt Hough was commenting on her voluptuousness.
