Backstreet Boys share their secret to longevity

The sniffles emitting from A.J. McLean and Kevin Richardson echo a bit as a result.

They're fighting sinus infections. In fact, all of the Backstreet Boys are, Richardson said.

"I just had sinus surgery," McLean shared. "Now that I can breathe, it's awesome. But now I'm getting everything."

The nearly 5,000 fans that were in attendance a little less than 18 hours prior certainly didn't seem to notice.

Backstreet Boys announce Vegas residency

The group will present its Larger Than Life residency at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. It will consist of 18 dates, scheduled for March 1, 2017 to July 1, 2017.

"It's going to be an amazing, energetic, fun party show," band member Kevin Richardson said in a video announcing their effort.

Tickets go on sale Oct. 1, with some pre-sales happening as early as Sept. 26.

The band's residency had been rumored since April.

Inspired by the success of the boy band New Kids on the Block, Pearlman recruited a group of unknowns to form the Backstreet Boys, which soared to stardom in 1996, becoming one of the best-selling boy bands of all-time.

Some members of Pearlman's other bands, including Justin Timberlake of NSYNC and Britney Spears, went on to achieve major stardom with solo careers.

Britney Spears has been busy in the studio with her manager. Her new album is "80% done" and apparently it "sounds amazing".

AJ McLean recently told Rolling Stone that the boyband has been flirting with the idea of touring with the girl group for a while now.

"The Spice Girls tour has been this idea bouncing around for the past year and a half, and it's something we're still talking about," he said.
