Archdiocese of Port Moresby

The updating, organised by the Catholic Religious Education Coordinator Sr. Imelda Mission, OND, aimed to give formation, support and strength to the RECs as they fulfill the mission entrusted to them, as mandated by the Archdiocese, which is teaching religion to their pupils and students.   

Twenty-three participants from 16 different Catholic agency run schools attended the updating, some coming from as far as the Rigo district of Central Province.

The pilgrimage begins this month and will end in October.  The pilgrimage offers a spiritual deepening and renewal of the Catholic faith which began at Yule Island in 1885.  It is there that Bishop Henry Verjus and other Sacred Heart missionary priests, catechists and volunteers planted and nourished the seed of the Catholic faith.
