Red Sox 'cheated using Apple Watch'

According to the New York Times, the Red Sox used the device to receive messages about what kind of pitch was about to be thrown.

That information was then relayed from the dug-out to the batter - giving him an advantage.

It is unclear what kind of punishment Boston’s beloved team might receive following the investigation. The team is currently top of the American League Eastern division.

MLB did not return the BBC’s request for comment on Tuesday.

Apple Watch 'not syncing' in cheap deal

If certain levels of activity are not logged every month customers are charged extra for the device.

The Apple Watch usually costs £369 in the UK.

The firm said a small number of customers were affected and some had synced their devices incorrectly.

Vitality declined to give figures of how many had taken up the offer.

Under the deal, customers who do not submit enough activity points per month have to pay an extra sum of up to £12.50 every time they fall behind.

The contract lasts for two years.

This Apple Watch runs Windows 95

Lee compared the processing power of his Apple device to that of home computer storage in the '90s, and explained how he managed to achieve the hack.

"Long story short, it's possible to patch certain files within a WatchKit app to load your own application code rather than Apple's," he explained.

With a 520 MHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage, the power of the Apple Watch far outweighs the power of a '90s computer, which could have up to 500MB of internal storage.

Facebook Messenger come to the Apple Watch

Made possible by the watchOS 2 software update, the app lets users read messages and send voice notes and emoji from their wrist.

Users can take advantage of Apple Watch support by downloading the latest version of Facebook Messenger from the App Store.

Native watch support isn't the only new feature, as Messenger now harnesses the multitasking features in iOS 9, so you can chat away while running another app.

Finally, Messenger contacts and convos will now appear within your native search results on iOS.

Apple's watchOS 2 release delayed due to bug

Scheduled to roll out today (September 16) alongside the iPhone and iPad-friendly iOS 9 patch, the watchOS 2 has now been officially pushed back by Apple at the last minute.

"We have discovered a bug in development of watchOS 2 that is taking a bit longer to fix than we expected. We will not release watchOS 2 today but will shortly," an official Apple spokesperson told Digital Spy.

Despite confirming the delay, the iPhone 6S maker has failed to confirm when exactly we can now expect the first major Apple Watch software update to land.

Samsung teases Gear S2 again ahead of next month's release

First previewed during last week's Samsung Unpacked event, the Gear S2 smartwatch has now seen its teaser trailer plastered over YouTube.

Although offering no new details on the device set to go head-to-head with the likes of the Moto 360 and the LG G Watch R, the teaser video provides our first HD look at the stunningly styled wearable.

Set to run a reworked version of the company's Tizen OS, Samsung has bestowed the Gear S2 with an integrated heart rate sensor and microphone that lets it double as a hands-free calling enabler.

Microsoft brings new apps to Android Wear and the Apple Watch

The new Outlook app is exclusive to the Apple Watch, allowing users to read full emails on their wrist and send pre-written or dictated responses.

Updated versions of OneNote and OneDrive have landed on Android Wear. The cloud-storage service will now use recently-uploaded photos as a watch face each time the device is activated.

Translator is available for both platforms, enabling users to convert spoken English into 50 different languages and save their favourite translations for quick reference.

Even Apple loyalists taking their time on Apple Watch

Sure, it can do many useful, even delightful things, such as showing incoming texts and email, tracking heart rates during exercise or sending digital doodles to friends. But is that enough to spend $350 or more, especially when it requires wearing a watch again while still carrying an iPhone around?

Early Apple Watch owners seem generally happy with it, but Apple's bigger worry should be those on the sidelines - even hardcore Apple fans, not to mention everybody else - who are waiting to take the plunge.
