Kuman boasts govt’s free education policy

Minister Kuman explained on the Talk Back Show on FM 100 on Tuesday that the idea of the TFF Policy is for a better education for Papua New Guinea.

Kuman said the policy aims to deliver education to Papua New Guineans that is more compatible globally.

He said from the Alotau Accord, the Government aimed to at least look at the structure of education in the last 40 years and to see what can be done going forward.

He stressed that there were some deliberate policy decisions along the way after the formation of the Government in 2012 and that included the TFF policy.

Office of Religion established under Department

Community Development Minister Delilah Gore said the Office of Religion was established as the Government recognised that churches contribute a lot to the country’s development.

Gore said: “People respect churches more than the Government and church programs are more sustained.”

In 2012, the department was directed through the Alotau Accord to establish the Office.

Government will still deliver without former PMs: Sir Puka

He said the government is intact and will keep delivering services to the people.

“Although some of our former PMs have left us to join the Opposition, we will continue to deliver services to our people until the 2017 elections.”

“During the formation of government, the theme of the Alotau Accord stated that this would be a Government of reconciliation, and the government has performed very well through political stability, achieving many milestones," Sir Puka said.

O’Neill adamant to fulfill Alotau Accord work plans

The Alotau Accord was set following the 2012 election by the parties and members that went on to form Government.

O’Neill said the Alotau Accord is now an historic agreement in the history of the nation.

“This is the most forward thinking platform for any elected Government in the history of Papua new Guinea.

“This document, the Alotau Accord, clearly identifies key priority areas that we need to advance in our country if we are to deliver real and tangible change for our communities.
