PNG Travel Air announced today that any passenger who has purchased a ticket on the cancelled Mangi Lo Ples (Travel Air) services would instead be able to travel free of charge on a PNG Air service on the same route.

Airlines PNG to launch new fleet into provinces

This will also see the aircraft continue its inaugural flights to other provincial airports in the next two weeks from the 5th to 16th November.

The inaugural flights into the provinces throughout the country will display the new brand and livery.

The company is rebranding as PNG Air with the delivery of the first new ATR 72-600.

It is replacing its older de Havilland Canada DHC-8-100 Dash 8 fleet with the new ATRs and has taken the opportunity to change its image.

Airlines PNG to replace entire fleet

Chairman Murray Woo revealed this today during the company’s annual general meeting.

Woo said  the ATR 72-600 aircraft would be the only carrier in the country servicing all major ports in the domestic market with “new, efficient, highly reliable, state of the art aircraft’’.

“That will allow the airline for the first time to offer what is clearly the premium product on domestic routes.

“We expect to have 3 brand new ATRs operating by February 2016 and 7 by December 2017.

PM Tuilaepa invites PNG airline into Samoa

Tuilaepa made the invitation during the Bank South Pacific launch on Thursday night where the Director of Airlines PNG. who is also the Bank South Pacific Chairman Sir Kostas Constantinou was present.

The board of directors when releasing the financial report on Friday said the company’s principal activities are the operation of a charter and scheduled passenger airline throughout PNG.

The group also owns 100% interest in Galatoire Investment property, PNG Ground Services, for the supply of aircraft fuel and APNG Services Pty Ltd for supply of international aircrew.

The board when releasing the financial year report for 2014 revealed this on Friday.

The board revealed that for the first four aircraft, sale and lease back agreements have been entered into with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise, a leasing company based in Dubai.

They said that for the remaining two aircraft, management is making submissions for export credit financing through COFACE/SACHE.
