2020 Intrust Super Cup

It was an all-round performance by the team as fans in Port Moresby got a glimpse of the squad in their first match under new Coach Mathew Church for the 2020 season.

The Hunters took a 20 – 6 lead going into the break despite allowing the Capras score the opening try of the match.

Hunters showed class and bounced back immediately with try’s to Nicky Hasu, Junior Rau, Joe Joshua and Casey Dickson

With the inclusion of these new players from the 2019 Digicel Cup competition, the team is looking forward to the 2020 ISC competition.

The players who will be joining the Hunters team include Casey Dickson and Mark Piti from the Lae Snax Tigers, Emmanuel Waine and Stanford Talita from Hela Wigmen, Francis Takai from the Rabaul Gurias and Steven Bruno from the Kimbe Cutters.

The grand final re-match is locked in for Pizzey Park, providing Burleigh fans with an early opportunity to watch the team begin their premiership defence from close quarters under newly-appointed coach Rick Stone.

It is one of seven big Intrust Super Cup games to be played across the opening round of fixtures on the weekend of March 14-15.
