APEC locations to showcase PNG’s diversity

This is to make sure delegates to the various APEC lead up meeting appreciate the diversity PNG has to offer.

Chief executive officer of APEC PNG, Christopher Hawkins said this during the 7th Security Partners Working Group meeting in Port Moresby.

Confirmed city’s that will host the APEC lead up meetings include Port Moresby, Lae, Kokopo, Wewak, Kavieng, Madang, Mt Hagen, Goroka, Popondetta and Arawa with a few other places yet to be named.

Globalisation not beneficial for all: O’Neill

Meeting in Lima, Peru, under the theme of ‘Quality Growth and Human Development’, APEC Leaders have committed to maintain focus on advancing free trade.

As part of this commitment, Papua New Guinea’s Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, said APEC will continue to take into account the circumstances of all economies in the region and recognise that not all elements of globalisation are beneficial for all people.
