Playmaker Stanley Olo was instrumental scoring a try and kicking two goals in the round five clash.
Tries to winger Daniel Tapol and Olo gave the Wigmen a 10-2 lead at the break.
The Gulf boys narrowed the deficit in the second half through Robert Mase followed by a penalty conversion from Jefferey Para, to bring the score to 10-8.
But Olo showed why he is one of the best in the game, sending in a charging Benjamin Hetra and then later setting up the match winner with another to Tapol.
Wigmen centre, Melvin Paul, picked up the man of the match award.
