USA in a must win game against the Kiwis

This afternoon’s Group C fixtures of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup are crucial matches for all countries.

Game two will decide the fate for the four nations; that is why all will be vying for three points to make their chances for a berth in the qualifying rounds easier, with one match left after this evening’s matches at PNG Football Stadium in Port Moresby.

Group favourites, USA will be on their toes to make amends for their scoreless draw against a no-nonsense France outfit when they play New Zealand at 7pm.

New Zealand’s  back three of Sarah Morton, Samatha Murrell and Captain Meikayla Moore must be on guard in defence to restrict USA captain and striker Mallory Pugh and Jessie Scarpa from having easier strike at goal.

USA are three times champions in the U20 Women’s World Cup.

New Zealand striker Paige Satchell who scooped the player of the match award in their victory over Ghana in game one will be a player to watch.

In the 4pm kick off, Ghana will face France.  

The African princesses will be playing for survival, and France will be no easy push overs.

Ghana will cause problems for the European side if they play through the France defence with quick balls to their forwards.

Ghana’s players to watch will be midfielders, Ernestina Abamila and Wasila Diwura – Soale.

And France striker, Delphine Cascarino will aiming for another the player of the match award and give her side a victory.                           

The current Group C Points leader after game one is as follows: New Zealand 3, France 1, USA 1, Ghana 0.
