The PNG Softball Federation has two sanctioned events: The national titles and the national clubs championship.
These events provide an avenue for outstanding players to be selected for national duties.
The PNG Softball Federation President, Ralph Tarasomo, said this year’s club championships will see strong teams go head-to-head during the long weekend in Port Moresby.
Tarasomo is confident a strong world series men’s team will be selected to take part in the 2019 world series to be played in the Czech Republic.
“And we’ve got a national women’s team to be selected to attend the State championships in Brisbane,” he stated.
“For us as a national federation, we want to promote this game and we want to build capacity in this game as well.”
Tarasomo thanked the sponsors as well as families for their staunch support in the code.
Meantime, the 2018 National Clubs Championships, which started on September 14th, ends today in Port Moresby.
