Pukpuks 7s record one win, two losses

Despite being hit hard by injuries, the PNG Pukpuks sevens managed to complete three matches today at the Hamilton sevens.

Pukpuks sevens went down to England and South Africa but managed a win over Russia, 33 points to 7.

In match 19 of Pool C, of the New Zealand leg of the HSBC Hamilton sevens, PNG faced the aggression of the Russians.

Willie Tatut was on fire running in two tries. While Gairo Kapana celebrated with his spoils as well chipping in two tries for the Pukpuks.

Despite nursing a sore eye socket, Emmanuel Guise contributed to the Pukpuks score line with a try as well.

PNG got off to a good start leading at half time 19 -7 over the Russians and never backed down till the end.

Earlier on Pupuk kick started their Hamilton campaign with a loss to England 27-nil then it was the heavy weights South Africa who pushed past PNG 36-5.

HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series 2018 in Hamilton will go into the challenge trophy quarter finals where PNG Pukpuks will play against the 4th team in Pool c at the Waikato Stadium.
