Over K400,000 to PNGOC

SP Brewery has renewed its longstanding partnership with the PNG Olympic Committee.

Over K400,000 was committed on February 14th, marking a three-year sponsorship package.

SP managing director, Stan Joyce, said their association with the PNG Olympic Committee goes back as early as the 1980s, during the days of the Pepsi Fun Run.

“That partnership endures. And it endures because of the important ingredients in any partnership, which is trust and respect,” said Joyce.

“And I’m very pleased to say that SP Brewery continues that partnership because we trust the organisations involved, and we have a mutual respect of each other.”

A cheque of K409,825 was presented to the PNG Olympic Committee secretary general, Auvita Rapilla, and PNG chef de mission, Emma Waiwai.

Rapilla, while extending her gratitude to SP Brewery, described the assistance as timely since it comes ahead of the 16th Pacific Games, set to be hosted in Samoa in July.

Also present was PNG’s powerlifting gold medallist and record breaker Linda Pulsan, who revealed that she is more than ready to represent her country and be the best that she can be.
