Nominations open for POM snooker challenge

Nominations for the 2017 Port Moresby Handicap snooker challenge are now open.

President of the Port Moresby Billiards and Snooker Association, John Chan, said the nomination fee is K200.

He added a K50 discount will apply if paid before the deadline at 8pm on Monday, October 30.

"It will be on a first come first serve basis," said Chan.

"We are expecting 48 players including women and juniors to take part, and all players must have a handicap to participate.”

Chan said a briefing will be held at the Lamana Q Club on Wednesday November 1 at 5pm, with some matches to cue off later that evening.

The finals will be held on Sunday November 5 at the Lamana Q Club.

Nomination forms are available at the Aviat Club, Laguna Hotel and Lamana Q Club.

The tournament director is Joey Chan and will be assisted by Danny Earls, Gamu Miria and Malcolm Currie.

Chan said the handicap challenge will go on despite not having any naming rights sponsor.

Anyone interested in supporting this event can contact vice president Stewart Nikints (76719529) or Joe Chan (72203837) at Lamana Q club.
