The deadline for nominations for the prestigious SP Sports Awards has been extended to March 23.
It was moved from March 12 to March 23 by the SPSA Committee.
SPSA Committee Chairman, Tania Mairi Mahuru, is happy with the nominations received so far from the various sporting codes.
“2017 was a great year for sports. A good number of codes won a number of their events including AFL, who won the International Aussie Rules Cup in Melbourne, defending their title for the second consecutive year; the SP PNG Hunters, winning their first Intrust Super Cup grand final and even in basketball and weightlifting.
“We’re looking forward to seeing those achievements translate into nominations this year, therefore, I encourage everyone to nominate in any one of the 11 categories.”
Nomination forms can be picked up at any City Pharmacy outlet nationwide, at the PNG Olympic Committee office at 4-Mile, the PNG Sports Foundation office at Sir John Guise indoor complex, SP Brewery at Gordons in Port Moresby or online via http://www.pngolympic.org/images/misc/Nomination_form_2018_e
