Mexico’s Kiana Palacios aims to score more goals

Mexico forward Kiana Palacios aims to score more goals in their quarterfinal match against the United States on Friday, November 25.

Palacios, who was the Live Your Goals Player of the Match in Mexico’s victory against Venezuela 3-2, scored two goals in the match.

This was her third goal overall in the tournament after scoring her first goal in Mexico’s win over Korea Republic 2-0.

Palacios is currently leveled with three goals so far in the tournament, with Brazil’s Brena and Germany’s Stefanie Sanders.

Palacios admitted that their match against USA in the quarterfinal is going to be a tough game.

“I hope we come out even better than how we performed against Venezuela and I feel that we will come out stronger with more passion to win.

“I hope to score more goals for my team and just be 110 percent better than before in controlling the ball, playing the ball and having possession with a lot more footwork,” the number 9 said.

Palacios said it was an exciting win over Venezuela and was very proud of her team as they achieved the victory together.

“In the beginning of the match, we were very excited and we came out very strong.

“Venezuela pressured us as they’re a very good team but we held and controlled the ball great,” Palacios said.
