Lae training camp ends

The Lae, Madang and Highlands based training camp ended on April 24th at the PNGFA Academy.

The camp began on Monday and ended yesterday, where skills and fitness were tested.

Head coach Bob Morris and his assistant Harrison Kamake used the opportunity to check players’ fitness and skill level and to see how they can play together as a team.

Coach Morris said last week they trained the Port Moresby-based players and this week they have completed their Lae, Madang and Highlands sessions.

He says after this, they will build a squad to meet the best from the Pacific with the aim of winning gold medal.

“I am still trying to get to know some players’ style of football,” Morris says.

Even though it is a huge task coaching the national team, Morris is confident with the players he has.

The 30-man squad selected from the split camp will be called in for a second training camp from the 6th to the 10th of May.
