Kamapim Kakana team well received

The Tertiary Talent Identification & Development (TID) team from High Performance Sport PNG was received with open arms in each school they visited.

Dubbed the Kamapim Kakana Tertiary TID team, coordinator Edmond Bannick said it has generated a lot of interest.

“Majority of feedback from students and administrators have been thanking HPS PNG for the initiative in providing the bridge for students to showcase their talents,” said Bannick.

So far, the team has visited the Institute of Business Studies at Six-Mile, International Education Agency – Technical & Further Education – Ela Beach, the University of Papua New Guinea and the International Training Institute at Badili.

Bannick said the team couldn’t visit all other institutions due to the closure of the school year and end-of-year examinations

“This is a great initiative undertaken by HPS PNG to strengthen ties with tertiary institutions and also a great opportunity for students to showcase their sporting abilities.

“The main purpose of this program is to identify potential representative athletes in the tertiary level and the TID program is a great starting point for the young people,” he added.

Interested tertiary students who are on holidays but are keen to participate can contact Bannick via email: events.highperformancepng@gmail.com or send a message on Facebook to “High Performance Sport PNG”.
