Foster to boost team's Oceania league dream

Madang FC has signed PNG international, Michael Foster, to boost their Oceania Champions League campaign.

The PNG Kapuls captain spent whole of last year playing in Australia and is now ready to help his home side at the Champions League.

Michael Foster is a household soccer name in Madang and he spent whole of last year in Australia playing with Geelong Football club with countryman Hillary Harry Jenkins, before joining Malaita Kingz of Solomon Islands towards the end of 2017.

Foster brings with him a formidable international record of 32 games and seven goals.

Madang FC chairman, Dr Miok Komolong, said: “There is an air of excitement with Foster teaming up with Madang.”

Foster was in Madang colours in their NSL match yesterday, defeating Southern Strikers from Port Moresby at the Laiwaden Oval in round two for the National Soccer League.

Coach Mauri Wasi has opted for Foster to play with the team in the NSL competition so that he can get used to playing with the Madang boys.

Coach Wasi says he has certainly given Madang FC a timely boost and renewed their drive to produce the goods.
