The Diamonds secured their spot in the grand final of the Hebou Shield Women’s T20 Competition after a 53 run win over the Piranhas at Amini Park yesterday.
Batting first in the semi-final, the Diamonds belted their way to finish at 1/151. The bulk of the runs came from Joy Buama (42*), Isabella Kari (42*) and Kopi John (41).
The Piranhas’ only wicket taker was Hina Philip (1/31).
With the ball in hand, Helai Nou (3/5) and Mairi Tom (3/26) demolished the Piranhas’ batting attack to have them all bowled out for 98.
The Diamonds will now play the undefeated Sharks in tomorrow’s T20 grand final.
